Swati Dance Company is currently managed by Anita Srivastava.

Anita Srivastava is an Independent Arts Manager and the Founding Director of New Dimensions Arts Management. Anita has specialist knowledge in South Asian Dance underpinned by her deep & broad interest across the dance sector. With over 20 years’ experience, Anita has a proven track record of successfully applying her marketing and management skills in the education & arts sector.

Prior to moving to England, Anita managed a national training initiative in India. She started her career in arts management in the UK in 2000 with Kadam, where she was responsible for strategic planning & management of their core projects, International Summer School & Pulse Magazine. In 2008, she was selected for Arts Council England’s Escalator Leadership Development Programme in the East region which provided her the impetus & confidence to set up New Dimensions.

New Dimensions works with strategic South Asian dance organisations in creating and delivering projects of regional and national significance. The Company has extensive experience of building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels and works with other experienced arts professionals to develop projects and create synergies where possible.

Anita’s project management and marketing expertise have been commended for the successful delivery of ‘Dance India – International Summer School’ for Milapfest from 2008 to 2011, the profile-raising and recruitment of students since 2009 for the national South Asian strand of the Centre for Advanced Dance Training Programme led by DanceXchange and Sampad, the marketing of the national South Asian strand of U.Dance for Dance4 and increasing its connectivity within the South Asian dance community, developing database of artists and providing marketing support via management of Akademi’s South Asian dance website, and most recently, by the BBC & Saddler’s Wells for successfully engaging participants for the BBC Young Dancer competition for South Asian dance category.

A recent highlight of Anita’s career has been producing Navadisha 2016, a trailblazing conference which took place in May 2016 at mac Birmingham. Co-produced by Sampad Arts, the conference celebrated achievements, success & contemporary diversity of South Asian dance sector and most importantly brought the sector together to discuss future challenges & opportunities.
